Terms of Service

Version: 2.1 Effective date: 26 October 2026

These Terms govern your use of Orkora, an event management platform operated by Orkora Technologies Limited ("Orkora", "we", "us"), a company registered in the Federal Republic of Nigeria (RC 9697234). You accept these Terms when you tick the box confirming your agreement while creating an account, or when we ask you to accept an updated version. Attendees who register for an event on Orkora accept these Terms by completing registration. We keep a record of the version you accepted and when.

1. Eligibility and Sanctions

You may use Orkora only if you are at least 18 years old and able to enter into a binding contract. A person under 18 may attend an event only through a registration made by a parent or guardian, who accepts these Terms on their behalf.

You confirm that you are not subject to sanctions under any law that applies to you, and that you will not use Orkora on behalf of anyone who is. We may refuse or end service where the law requires it.

2. Your Account

You are responsible for keeping your sign-in details safe and for everything done from your account. Tell us at security@orkora.events if you think someone else has used it. We may suspend an account we believe has been compromised or misused.

3. What Orkora Is

Orkora is software for running paid and free events: event pages, tickets and registration, check-in, live engagement, email to attendees, refunds and reports. Orkora does not host events. Organisers host their own events and are responsible for them.

4. Service Availability

We aim to keep Orkora available at all times but do not guarantee uninterrupted service. We may change, add or remove features. If we close your account for a reason other than a breach of these Terms, we will give you reasonable notice so you can export your event data.

5. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

  • Use Orkora for an event or activity that is unlawful where it takes place.
  • Upload or send content that is illegal, misleading, infringing or harmful.
  • Send unsolicited messages to people who have not registered for your event.
  • Copy, reverse engineer or resell any part of the platform.
  • Access another user's data, or interfere with the platform's security or limits.

6. Content and Intellectual Property

You keep ownership of the content you upload. You allow Orkora to host, display and send that content as needed to run the platform for you. Orkora keeps all rights in the platform, its software, design and brand.

7. Payments and Fees

Tickets are sold by the organiser to the attendee. Orkora is not a party to that sale. Payments are processed by the organiser's payment provider (currently Paystack or Flutterwave), and the organiser's share settles directly to the organiser's account with that provider.

Plans. Free events are always free. Paid events are charged on one of our plans, which scale with the size of your events:

  • Standard, the default plan for every organiser, with the per-ticket fee below.
  • Pro, for organisers running a recurring series, with a monthly subscription and a lower per-ticket fee.
  • Enterprise, for high-volume and multi-entity organisers, with fees agreed for your volume.

Current plan prices are published on our Pricing page. Pro and Enterprise apply only once you and Orkora have agreed to them in writing (including by email or in your dashboard); until then, Standard applies. Where an agreed plan sets different fees, those fees replace the Standard fee for the events it covers.

Standard platform fee. Orkora charges a fee on each paid ticket. Free tickets carry no fee. The fee for each paid ticket is:

  • 3% of that ticket's price, plus
  • a fixed amount per ticket: US$0.99, or its Naira equivalent for Naira sales (currently NGN 1,350).

For example, two tickets at NGN 10,000 each carry a fee of NGN 300 + NGN 1,350 per ticket, so NGN 3,300 for the order.

  • Which events it applies to. The fee applies to events created on or after the date it took effect. Each event keeps the percentage and the US Dollar amount in effect on the day it was created. Events created before the fee took effect carry no platform fee.
  • The Naira amount. The Naira fixed amount follows the exchange rate and may change without notice. The amount that applies is the one in effect at the time of the sale. Buyers see it at checkout when the fee is passed on, and organisers can ask us for the current figure at hello@orkora.events.
  • Who pays. For each event the organiser chooses to absorb the fee or pass it on to buyers. If it is passed on, the buyer sees it before paying.
  • How it is collected. The fee is split out at settlement by the payment provider.
  • Refunds. When a ticket is refunded in full through Orkora, the fee on that ticket is returned.
  • Other changes. We will give at least 30 days' notice of any change to the percentage or the US Dollar amount, and a change applies only to events created after it takes effect.

Payment providers charge their own processing fees, separately from the platform fee.

8. Refunds

Refunds to attendees follow the organiser's refund terms and our Refund Policy at /legal/refunds.

9. Termination

You may close your account at any time. We may suspend or close an account that breaches these Terms, with notice where practical, or immediately where there is a risk to attendees, organisers or the platform. Records we must keep by law are kept after closure, as described in our Privacy Policy.

10. Disclaimers

To the extent the law allows, Orkora is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind. We are not responsible for events, for organisers' or attendees' conduct, or for the services of payment providers and other third parties.

11. Limitation of Liability

To the extent the law allows:

  • Orkora's total liability to you for all claims connected with the platform is limited to the greater of (a) the platform fees Orkora received from you in the 3 months before the event giving rise to the claim, and (b) NGN 50,000.
  • Orkora is not liable for indirect or consequential loss, including lost profits, revenue, data or business.

Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, including liability for fraud.

12. Indemnity

You agree to compensate Orkora for claims, losses and costs arising from your breach of these Terms, your events, the content you upload, or your breach of the law.

13. Security Disclosure

If you find a security weakness in Orkora, please report it to security@orkora.events and do not use it beyond what is needed to show it. We will not take action against good-faith reports.

14. Governing Law and Venue

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. The courts of Lagos State, Nigeria have jurisdiction over any dispute.

15. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms. We will tell you about material changes by email at least 30 days before they take effect, unless the law requires a faster change. We may ask you to accept a new version before you continue using your dashboard; if you do not accept it, you may close your account. Fee changes follow Section 7.
